UPDATE 2: Exogenesis Symphony 7″ – Record Store Day
UPDATE 2:
It would seem that the UK will NOT be getting the Muse 7″…
According to Indie Record Shop‘s list of UK releases, Muse isn’t on it. I’m guessing this is a US exclusive of some sort.
UPDATE:
After reading through the website, it seems that this will be a one-day-only event. Independent stores will be selling these on that day only. There’s no guarantee what store will get what. Find out what participating stores are near you.
It’s been brought to my attention that an Exogenesis Symphony 7″ Single could be released on April 17th.
The first source, THEPRP, tells us the date, whereas the second, RECORD STORE DAY, gives us a description of the tracklist:
- Exogenesis Symphony (Parts 1-3)
- Uprising (Live from Teignmouth)
- Resistance (Live from Lisbon)
It also states there will only be 2000 copies made.
There were also rumours of a single for Unnatural Selection.
We’ll see which one plays out. Keep a sharp eye.

Muse + Eclipse = No More

Sigh of relief or cringe of horrible agony?
That is the question we ask ourselves after the recent newspost by Dose.ca telling us that Muse will not appear on the third instalment of the Twilight series.
They even so far as to write the song, but never got to record it properly. Muse still intend to release it, though. Time will tell.

Thanks to maggieland for bringing this to my attention.
Vote for “Three Songs for the 2010 Stadium Tour”
Initiated by the Italian fansite Musemuseum.it, an online petition was created in order to ask Muse to perform some never-before-played songs or ones that haven’t seen the light of the stage for a while.

Birmingham, UK – Sunday Mercury

IT’S easy to forget just how brutally brilliant a rock band Muse can be. The prog-rock, glam pop and neo-classical stylings of the Devon band’s last two albums have lulled us all into a false sense of security. Matt Bellamy & Co have walked a tightrope stretched across the mainstream, just managing to keep their balance.
Undisclosed Desires Video Shoot Pictures – NME
The following images are all taken from Muse’s recent video shoot for ‘Undisclosed Desires’, the latest single to be taken from their fifth album, ‘The Resistance’. It was shot at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood – where ‘Star Wars’ Episodes IV, V and VI were all shot during the late 70′s and early 80′s. The video is a futuristic, dystopian affair that finds the band performing in front of a mass of wires and various TV screens flashing up lyrics from the song. Muse are currently riding high – ‘The Resistance’ recently entered the US chart at number three. Meanwhile, they were named Best Band In The World Today by Q magazine. ‘Undisclosed Desires’ comes out as a single on November 16. The video was directed by in-demand French duo Jonas et François, who have worked with Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, and produced Justice’s lauded ‘D.A.N.C.E’ video. The current Muse tour features their most spectacular stage set to date – a giant creation which Matt Bellamy has dubbed a “multi-platform totalitarian world”. Muse’s current stage show involves three giant towers which rise and fall during the show, and are covered with images of bodies floating through space, thereby illustrating ‘The Resistance”s over-arching theme of humanity fleeing earth for a new home. Muse’s UK tour hits Liverpool tomorrow, then calls at Sheffield (November 5), Glasgow (November 9), Birmingham (November 10), and London (November 12 and 13). You can buy tickets here.

Liverpool Echo: Interview with Chris

It’s been a decade since Muse first burst onto the music scene, proudly picking up the prog rock mantle where ELO left off.
With bright, space age sounds and orchestral rock configurations, they bagged a clutch of gongs – five MTV Europe Music Awards, five Q Awards, six NME Awards, two BRIT awards and four Kerrang! Awards.
Dom Talks Italian Mime Performance

It’s well known that the Italian press loves scandal almost as much as the rest of the country loves soccer. Throw in a dash of ‘X-Factor’ mockery and, as Muse found out during a recent promotional appearance in the boot-shaped country, you’ve got the recipe for a great tabloid story.
“We were booked on this cheesy Italian TV show where they asked us to mime. We tried to think of a way to make it fun and interesting so we decided to swap instruments,” drummer Dominic Howard tells Spinner of the band’s appearance on the soccer-themed ‘Quelli che il Calico’ program. “We just did it for a laugh really, just to have a bit of fun, but it actually turned out to be quite a thing.”
Francis Rossi (Status Quo) ‘Loves Muse to Death’

Electric guitar player Francis Rossi is the latest veteran rocker to emerge as a fan of Muse.
Brian May of Queen this week told the BBC that Muse are “extraordinary” musicians and that he rates their new album The Resistance very highly.
